Jesus (Isa) A.S. in Islam, and his Second Coming

I. Jesus (A.S.) In Islam
Muslims do believe that Isa (A.S.) was sent down as a Prophet of Allah (God), but he (Jesus) is not God or Lord, nor the son of God. Muslims do not believe that Isa (A.S.), also known as Jesus by Christians and others, is dead or was ever crucified. We believe that he was raised to heaven and is there, and will descend at the appointed time, end all wars, and bring peace to the world.  Like Jesus (A.S.), Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is also a Prophet and Messenger. Muhammed (P.B.U.H.) is the last Prophet, though, and there is none after him.  Hence, Islam is the last religion, complete,  with the Holy Qur'an as the unchanged and perfect word of God for over 1400 years, as God promised to preserve it till the last day for all of humankind, unlike sacred texts of other religions which have mulitple versions and are "revised" periodically.  God, or Allah in Arabic, is Divine and Supreme Being and Creator.
What the Holy Qur'an says about Jesus:
They slew him not, nor did they crucify him but it was made dubious to them.
(Holy Qur'an, Surah Nisaa, Verse 157)
Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) himself told of the coming of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). In the Bible, Jesus (A.S.) says,
If you love me, Keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever.
(Bible, John 14-15/16)

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me, and he also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
(Bible, John 15-26/27)
I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the spirit of Truth will come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall speak not of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that he shall speak, and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine, and he shall show it unto you.
(Bible, John 16-12/14)
Ulema (learned scholars in Islam) have said that the person who is described by Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) to come after him - in the above verse - does not comply with any other person but Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
In this case, the "comforter" he mentions is none other than Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his laws and way of life (Shariah) and Book (Holy Qur'an) are those that Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) asks his followers to abide by.
The "person" whom Jesus (A.S.) prophecised will come after him, is called Pargaleeta in the Bible . This word was deleted by interpreters and translators and changed at times to "Spirit of Truth" and at other times, to "comforter" and sometimes "Holy Spirit." The original Greek and its meaning is "one whom people praise exceedingly." The sense of the word, then, is applicable to the word Muhammad in Arabic, since Muhammad means "the praised one."
Jesus (A.S.) also says in the Bible,
... and a little while and you shall not see me; and again a little while, you shall see me because I go to the Father.
(Bible, John 16:16)
... and the Holy Qur'an says,
And surely they slew him not. But Allah (God) raised him unto Himself.
(Holy Qur'an, Surah Nisaa, Verse 157-158)
As such, Muslims believe that Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) was raised to heaven. According to Hadith, he is on the second heaven. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam=Peace be upon him) mentioned, "During the Meraj (Ascension), I met Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) on the second heaven. I found him of medium stature, reddish white. His body was so clean and clear, that it appeared as though he had just performed ghusal (ablution, cleansing of the entire body) and come." In another Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) mentioned to the Jews that, " Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) is not dead, he will most surely return to you before Qiyamat (the Day of Judgement)."
May Allah Guide all people to the Truth. Aameen.
II. Hadhrat Isa's (A.S.) Descension
The Physical Features of Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)
He will resemble the famous Sahabi (A.S.) Hadhrat Urwa bin Masoodi (R.A.). He will be of average height and red and white in colour. His hair spread to the shoulders, straight, neat and shining as after a bath. On bending his head, it will seem as if pearls are falling. He will have an armour on his body. He will be wearing two pieces of cloth light yellow in color.
His Descension
He will descend on a Jamaat (group) that will be righteous at the time and comprising of 800 men and 400 women. The people will be preparing for war at the time against Dajjal (the anti-Christ). It will be time for Fajr prayers, and Imam Mahdi will be the Amir (leader). From the darkness of the dawn, a sound will suddenly be heard that "one who listens to your pleas has come" -- the righteous people will look everywhere and their eyes will fall on Isa (A.S.). Briefly, at the time of Fajr, Isa (A.S.) will descend. When descending, Isa (A.S.)'s hands will be on the shoulders of two angels (according to another source (Kab Abrar), a cloud will carry him). On their insistence Hadhrat Isa will introduce himself. He will inquire about their enthusiasm and thoughts on Jihad against Dajjal. Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will descend on the eastern side near the Minaret in Damascus (or in Baitul-Muqaddus by Imam Mahdi). At the time Imam Mahdi will have proceeded forward to lead the Fajr Salaat. The Iqamat of the Salaat would have been said (already recited) and Imam Mahdi will call Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) for Imamat (to lead the prayer), but he (Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)) will instead tell Imam Mahdi to lead the prayer since the Iqamat of that Salaat has already been said for him. Thus Imam Mahdi will lead the prayer, and Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will follow him. After the ruku, he will make this statement: "Allah has killed Dajjal and the Muslims have appeared."
The Killing of Dajjal (anti-Christ) and the Victory of the Muslims
After the completion of Fajr Salaat (congregational dawn prayers), Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will open the door behind him where Dajjal accompanied by 70,000 Yahudis (Jews) will be. He will indicate with his hand to move away between him (Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)) and Dajjal. Dajjal will then see Hadhrat Isa (A.S.). At that time every Kafir on whom the breath of Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will reach, will die. His breath will reach up to the distance of his eyesight. The Muslims will then come down from the mountains and break loose on the army of Dajjal. There will be war, Dajjal will retreat, and Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will pursue Dajjal. Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will have two flexible swords and one shield with him and with these he will kill Dajjal at the Gate of Hudd. He willl show the Muslims the blood of Dajjal which will get on his shield. Eventually the Yahudis will be selected and killed. The swine will be killed and the cross broken. People will revert to Islam. Wars will end, and people will return to their respective countries. One Jamaat (group) of Muslims will remain in his service and companionship.
Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will go to Fajr Rawha and perform Haj or Umrah (or both) from there. He will also go to the grave of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and present his greetings and Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) will reply. People will live comfortable lives. The wall of Yajooj and Majooj (Gog and Magog) will then break.
III. The Blessings of Hadhrat Isa (Jesus) (A.S.)
1 Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will descend and stay on earth.
2 His descension will be in the last era of the Ummat.
3 He will be a just ruler and a fair judge.
4 His ummat will be the Khalifa (deputies) of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).
5 He will act himself and instruct others on the Qur'an and Hadith (Shariat/Tradition of Islam).
6 He will lead people in Salaat (Prayer).
7 He will stay on earth for a period of 40 years after descending. The will be the best era of the Ummat after the first era of Islam.
8 Allah will protect his companions from Jahannam.
9 Those who will save the Deen of Islam by associating themselves with Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will be amongst the most loved by Allah Ta'ala.
10 During this period all other religions and mazhabs besides Islam will perish, hence there will be no kuffaars (non-believers) in the world.
11 Jihad will be stopped.
12 No Khiraaj will be taken.
13 Nor Jizya (protection tax) money from the kafirs (non-believers)
14 Wealth and property will be in surplus to such an extent that there will be no one to accept the wealth of the other (everyone will be independent).
15 Receiving Zakaat (Alms-giving, Charity to poor) and Saadaqa will be discarded (as there will be no poor to receive them!).
16 The people will love the sajda (prostration to God) more than the world and what it consists of.
17 All types of Deeni (religious) and worldly blessings will descend on earth (many halaal (lawful) things will be created).
18 There will be peace, harmony and tranquility during the time of Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)'s stay in the world.
19 There will be no animosity for a period of seven years, even between two persons.
20 All hearts will be free from miserliness, envy, hatred, malice and jealousy.
21 For a period of forty years no one will fall ill or die.
22 Venom will be taken out of all venomous animals.
23 Snakes and scorpions will not harm anyone to the extent that if a child put his hand in its mouth, he will not be harmed.
24 Will animals will not harm anyone.
25 If a man will pass a lion, he will not be troubled or harmed, or even if any girl will open its mouth to test if it will do anything.
26 The camels will graze among lions, cheetahs with cattle and the jackals with goats.
27 The fertility of the land will increase to such an extent that even if a seed is planted in a hard rock, it will sprout.
28 A pomegranate will be so huge that a jamaat will be able to eat it and the people will use its peel as shade.
29 There will be so much barakaat (blessing) in milk that a camel will suffice for a huge jamaat, a cow for a tribe and a goat for a family.
30 In short, life will be most pleasant after the descension of Jesus (A.S.).
His Marriage, Death and Deputies
After his descension on earth, Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will marry. He will have children, and he will remain on earth 19 years after marriage. He will pass away and Muslims will perform his Janaza Salaat and bury him net to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). (Tirmidhi)

  1. The second coming of Jesus Christ is the hope of believers that God is in control of all things, and is faithful to the promises and prophecies in His Word. In His first coming, Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem, just as prophesied. Jesus fulfilled many of the prophecies of the Messiah during His birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection. However, there are some prophecies regarding the Messiah that Jesus has not yet fulfilled. The second coming of Christ will be the return of Christ to fulfill these remaining prophecies. In His first coming, Jesus was the suffering Servant. In His second coming, Jesus will be the conquering King. In His first coming, Jesus arrived in the most humble of circumstances. In His second coming, Jesus will arrive with the armies of heaven at His side. His first coming. Jesus will fulfill the role of Israel’s deliverer and King in His second coming. Zechariah 12:10 and Revelation 1:7, describing the second coming, look back to Jesus being pierced. Israel, and the whole world, will mourn for not having accepted the Messiah the first time He came.

After Jesus ascended into heaven, the angels declared to the apostles, “‘Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven’” (Acts 1:11). Zechariah 14:4 identifies the location of the second coming as the Mount of Olives. Matthew 24:30 declares, “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.” Titus 2:13 describes the second coming as a “glorious appearing.”

The second coming is spoken of in greatest detail in Revelation 19:11-16, “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter.’ He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

  2. Just as Muslims have their own god - Allah - they also have their own heaven - Aljana. As the Muslim Allah is totally different from the Christian God, so also is Al jana completely different from the biblical heaven. Not only is the method of entry into the two different, but the conditions there are markedly different.

In Sura 5:92; 2:219, Allah forbids Muslims from taking wine while on planet earth, but those going to Aljana are promised rivers of wine of many enticing varieties (Sura 47:15; 76:6):
    - There is the promise of pure sealed wine (Sura 83:25)
    - Zanjabil enhanced wine (Sura 76:17)
    - Tasnim brand of wine (Sura 83:27)
    - Wine mixed with kafur (Sura 76:5)

  3. The Bible explicitly teaches that drunkards will not enter the Kingdom of God (1Cor 6:9-10).

Recognizing the inherent weakness in their concept of heaven, Islamic scholars such as Muhiyyu'ddin endeavored to explain the wine away in a mystical sense, but he was called as a heretic by other Muslims who insisted that the Koran means exactly what it says. Yusuf Ali also tried to give the wine Suras sufic, i.e., spiritual renderings. But the frequency with which those references occurred and the unequivocal nature of them made him abandon the "sufic interpretation project" and toe the line of the generality of the Islamic umma - that the Koran means exactly what it says - real wine.

If they guzzle all that promised wine, I wonder if the Muslims will go berserk in Aljana just like they do here? You can't rule out that possibility, you know, since even without wine, they went berserk in Allah’s headquarters (the Ka'aba in Mecca) during the pilgrimage of August 1987.

According to an official report by the Saudis, 402 Muslims were killed and 605 injured in a Jihad that they waged against themselves. Can their saying "Islam is peace" be true? Surely, a change of environment does not mean a change of heart. How the various warring factions of Islam can dwell together in the same Aljana is not stated by the Koran.Allah may have taken notice of this and compartmentalized the place. It appears that the Islamic Aljana contains what the Arabian desert most lacks, such as:

    - Gushing water (Sura 3:15, 198, 4:57, 15:45).
    - Clustered plantains (Sura 56:29)
    - Fruits (Sura 56:20, 69:21-24).
    - Shades with bunches of fruits (Sura 76:14).
    - Enclosed gardens and grape vines (Sura 78:32).
    - Fowl meat is one more carrot that Allah dangles before the noses of the Muslim faithful. (Sura 56:21).

    Whereas the Bible says:

For the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:17).

Apart from the wine and such other worldly things, there is also supposed to be a lot of honeymooning in Aljana. Womanizing Muslims here on earth are a picture of morality compared to what supposedly awaits them in their heaven. Among the rewards promised faithful Muslims are beautiful and heavy women with big and lustrous eyes
(Sura 38:52; 44:54; 52:20). (Whether this is where the idea of Ikebe Super1 originates or not, I cannot tell). Also promised are virgins whom no jinn (demon) nor man has ever touched (Sura 55:70-74).

Hadiths by respected scholars confirm all this by telling us that each faithful Muslim will be entitled to several thousand of these "special"women, called Houris (cf. Mishkatu.l Masabih, pp. 457-491). This concept of heaven contradicts the words of our Lord Jesus who dismissed a similar but more restrained sensual notion of the Sadducees.
Jesus told them plainly that there would be no marriage in heaven (SeeMatthew 22:29, 30).
What will happen to Muslim women from this world? Who would marry them considering that Muslim men are offered a whole host of better "heavenly" virgins? Would you go for a slightly used model when you were offered thousands of brand new ones? Is this not the epitome of discrimination against the longsuffering women of Islam? That kind of Islamic heaven makes Hollywood look like a monastery. The exceedingly holy God would have nothing to do with such a whoring place.

  4. It is astonishing to note that sensual excesses, which can send one straight to Hell if repented of, are exactly what are promised to our Muslim friends in their paradise. There are Bible warnings against such, if you will heed them:

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexuals nor slanders nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God. (1
    Corinthians 6:9-10, NIV).

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery: I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
    (Galatians 5:19, 21 NIV).

The passage of scripture that describes your final state if you fail to repent may be found in Revelation 21:8:

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers [including Jihadists], the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulphur [hell]. This is the second death.

Muhammad's daughter, Fatima, was perhaps gripped with the reality of the hereafter when she asked her father what her fate would be on the day of judgement. Listen to the "revelation" handed down to Muhammad to give his daughter:

"Say: I am no bringer of newfangled doctrine among the apostles, nor do I know what will be done with me or you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration; I am but a warner open and clear." (Sura 46, Al-Ahqaf, Verse 9).

Can you imagine? Muslims claim Muhammad to be the "seal" and"greatest" of the prophets, yet he wasn't sure of going to heaven himself, nor could he offer that assurance to his own daughter. If that is what he believed, why follow him? A religion that cannot grant assurance of salvation to its own prophet will certainly disappoint its lesser adherents in the last day. This uncertainty has characterized the lives of all professing Muslims down through the ages, and it serves as a prelude to their mpending doom. But you need not go the uncertain way of Muhammad and Fatima. There is a way out for you. Jesus Christ had a much better answer when Thomas asked Him a similar question:

Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me. (John 14:5,6).

This declaration of Jesus does away with the need for all other religions. If you accept Christ, you are not accepting a religion, but a living Savior. He alone can give you the assurance of your salvation:

But this man [Jesus] because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:24, 25).

  5. The Koran makes an incredible but true statement concerning their fate that should make every Muslim break out into a cold sweat. The Koran teaches plainly that both "unbelievers" and Muslims will go to Hell-fire.

The Koran declares that Muslims will eventually be rescued, but unbelievers will remain there. Sura 19, Maryam, verses 67-68, 71-72: "But does not man call to mind that we created him before out of nothing? So by thy Lord, without doubt, we shall gather them together, and [also] the evil ones [with them]; then shall we bring them forth on their knees round about hell; Not one of you but will pass over it [hell]: this is with thy Lord,a decree which must be accomplished. But we shall save those who guarded against evil, and we shall leave the wrong doers therein, [humbled] to their knees."

These statements are so explicit that Islamic scholars cannot explain them away. All they can say is that they all will first enter Hell before being saved according to their works. The number of years they will spend in Hell before help arrives is not specified in the Koran.I do not have a different interpretation of these Koranic verses than the Islamic scholars do. All I can say to my Muslim friends is that Hell is a place of no return. Once you are in there, you are in forever (Sura6:128; 11:107 cf.. Mark 9:43; Rev.20:10). Even if it were possible to pluck you out of Hell, the promised Islamic paradise is still a sort of Hell since the thrice holy God will have nothing to do with a city full of winebibbing, adulterous and whoring people.

    ReplyDelete
  6. That an Islamic paradise would not be sin-free is clear from the"balancing theory" that those whose good deeds outweigh their sins will enter paradise. It is a false hope. One sin disqualifies you from heaven asin the case of Adam and Eve. It takes complete holiness to enter the real heaven (Revelation 21:27; Hebrews 12:14). Our God is so pure that He cannot tolerate even the smallest sin (if there is such a thing as a small sin, Habakkuk 1:13).

If Allah's words are to be believed, then it is totally impossible for a Muslim to escape Hell-fire. In yet another sura of the Koran, Allah emphatically declares that he has ordained all Muslims and jinns to end up in Hell:

"If we had so willed, we could certainly have brought every souls its true guidance: but the word from me will come true. I will fill hell with jinns and men all together." (Sura 32:13; cf.again, Sura 19:71).

There is just no way this sura can be twisted to yield a meaning other than that Muslims along with jinns shall be in Hell-fire. The sura is so plain that any counter interpretation is impossible.

If Muhammad's words have any meaning for you, they mean that as long as you are under Allah and in Islam, it is his will to fill Hell with you and jinns. If you remain a Muslim, that will surely come to pass just as Allah has said. So that you may be assured that Allah means business, his intent to jam-pack you and all other Muslims into Hell-fire is reinforced by Sura 11:118, 119.

But the true Bible God has an entirely different message, and a totally different plan. He is not willing that you should go to Hell, but that you should come to repentance and be saved.

The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9).There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1).

From the teaching of Jesus we understand that the Bible God did not prepare Hell for mankind, but for Satan and his rebellious angels (Matthew 25:41). You will only end up there if you join Satan in rebellion against God by rejecting the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Though you have belonged to a religion that has killed millions of God's people, torn down His altar, sponsored demons to fight against Him, even if you have personally shed Christian blood, or supported those who have - whatever you may have done - God really loves you,and always has. If you truly want to be forgiven, Jesus is stretching forth His hands of love to receive you; for He also said:

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden [i.e.burdened with sins and guilt], and I will give you rest. (Matthew11:28).
